Summer is almost upon us and it’s time to start planning your family vacations. We’ve come a long way from the old days of loading the kids up into the family station wagon with the musty old canvas tent and all of your camping gear. Nowadays we’ve got big trucks like the Silverado with a 10,700 lb towing capacity and fancy toy hauler campers that allow us to bring all of our favorite toys with us to the campground or remote backwoods destinations.

It seems that most trucks today offer plenty of  features once available only in high end luxury cars. With a variety of sizes and towing capacities there’s no end to the types of campers and off road vehicles that you can bring along with you into the great outdoors. From giant 5th wheel toy haulers all they way down to pop up campers that now feature front storage racks for your dirt bikes or 4-wheeler there’s no need leave your toys at home anymore.

Whether your hauling dirt bikes, ATVs or even your fancy new Triumph street bike with you as you travel across this great country you can bring all the comforts of home with you. Even if you’re camping in remote locations without power you can always bring a generator like the ultra quiet Hondas that allow you to power up your equipment or just recharge your battery without disturbing the rest of the campers or mother nature in general. No matter if you’re “roughing it’ in a tent or camping in the lap of luxury there’s no need to leave your favorite tech toys at home anymore.

With most decent places to ride your dirt bikes and ATVs getting further and further away it’s becoming all the more important to have a good reliable truck to get you there. Of course before you head out don’t forget to bring along all of the gear you’ll need for tearing up the trails. A good helmet, protective gear and some quality gloves will go a long way in keeping you safe while riding your favorite off road vehicles.

So whether you’re heading out to a motocross races or just taking the family out for a  weekend camping trip, you can now bring along your favorite off road vehicles.  Just make sure have a quality truck to load your bikes into or hitch up your camper to and leave plenty of room for all of your gear and you’re guaranteed to have a great time. I’ve learned from my own experience over the years that few things bring a family together like going out and enjoying the great outdoors.

We will be meeting at Dillon Brothers Harley-Davidson:
3838 N. HWS Cleveland BLVD on June 10, 2012 between 4:30 and 4:45am; Kickstands up at 5:00am.

Starting at the store we’ll head east on Maple St and hop on I-680 crossing over into Iowa then head North on I-29. Through South Dakota into North Dakota. Our turn around point is Pembina, North Dakota . Then back to the dealership after receiving your halfway receipt. We will be completing the Saddlesore 1000 (1000 miles in 24 hrs) so come prepared.
